Many eat to live, but most live to eat...
My batchmates and I obviously fall in the second category, therefore passionately following our hungry day dreams we reached the 17th National youth festival, held at Mangala Stadium, Mangalore. The food court from all the states was exhibited here.
We took a 15 no. bus from Kankanady and reached our food land within half an hour...Its fun to travel in a bus especially with foodie hearts and exploratory brains!
Here are a few imp things that you need to carry when you visit a food exhibition:
1.A bottle of water
2.Empty tiffins, so that you can carry home some taste for your loved ones!
3.A few tissues...
and there you go....attack!
Remember, food exhibitions are for tasting food and not for hogging! :)
Its generally better to visit such places in a group so that you get a variety to taste..
We stimulated our taste buds starting with
Litti Chokhi and Imarti with Rabdi (Bihar) followed by
Khasta Puri (Chattisgarh)
Dahi bhalla and Desi Ghee Pakoda (Delhi)
Besan Ladoo (Haryana)
Rajma Chawal and Kadhi Chawal (Himachal Pradesh)
Dal Pakodi and Jalebi (Jharkhand)
Momos (Sikkim)
Arabian Pulpy Grapes juice and water melon juice from Mangalore.
These were some memorable foodstuff that added to my taste treasured tongue!
Yet I regret not having the untasted food and I hope to spot it somewhere else!!
After all
"There's no sincerer love than the love for FOOD!"
