THE INFLUENCE OF INDIAN BANK IN MY LIFE !

Well definitely this article is dedicated to my dad , MR.Prakash Kerkar and his lovely colleges
at INDIAN BANK especially the Andheri West branch -Michael Uncle , Supriya aunty ,anu aunty ,laxmi aunty , sophia and anita aunty , abhaan aunty , soraf uncle , modak aunty , Bhanumati aunty ,vijaya aunty any many more...sorry to miss the names! who enabled me to write this today...

               When I was a kid each day dad would drop me to school and head to his so called ,
 FIRST WIFE - HIS INDIAN BANK!
               Particularly talking of Indian Bank Andheri west branch, it was a huge  loving family. There would be everyday some or the other occasions to beat the drum and we kids were not at all left aloof from it. The small piece of parceled sweet that dropped on our palms even after staying home made us feel so special!
                    The calls that I attended on dad's behalf echoed the entire branch , at times I wonder  what made everyone compliment my innocent voice!
           The family get together was the "SATYANARAYANA POOJA" at the branch ,when we all kids ran around the branch like maniacs leaving it turned upside down!
I still remember using a typewriter (the only time i did) that gave me so much of prestige , helping  around aunties  to pack 'prasad' ladoos and chips , jumping around the classic wooden staircase , sitting in a small warm room and watching the ' chai ' boil ...so small yet special memories indeed!

Don't know what exactly was that, the formality , the environment or the bond between the staff that refreshes my mind to write about it almost after fifteen years!
Meeting different people across states at holiday homes, making new friends , the fusion of cultures was a cherishing experience.
     The spontaneous reaction seen on pointing at INDIAN BANK board spotted anywhere in India is certainly inexplicable! And still unknowingly I continue to do that..

           Since now I am here in Mangalore, about 1000 miles away from home , the number of times I pass the K.S Rao road, just before entering the mall , my eyes loyally end up greeting the INDIAN BANK BRANCH there and a smile of gratification shines on my face!
          The real reason for that smile here is a sense of unknown support and security that just the NAME : ' INDIAN BANK ' provides me even when my family is miles away..
Definitely a whole lot of gratitude flows through my heart for the  above pillar that has judiciously been supplying us with a lot more than bread and butter!
        Just a sight on  it's inanimate blue and yellow board is enough to share my loneliness in an unknown town. And as everytime I pass it's street , lovingly words echo into my ears ;

" DONT YOU WORRY CHILD , I AM ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU! "
